What is the Hockey Career Simulator?

It is a free browser game where you create an ice hockey player and live their entire career, from their first junior contract at 16 to retirement at 40. You pick a nationality, a shooting hand, a jersey number and a position, then decide which clubs to sign for and how to handle the moments that shape a career.

Do I need to download anything or create an account?

No. The game runs entirely in your browser on desktop and mobile. There is no download, no install and no sign-up, and a full career takes between two and ten minutes depending on the pace you choose.

Can I win the Stanley Cup, the Olympics or the World Championship?

You can win your league title, the Champions Hockey League with a European club, and international medals at the World Championship, the World Juniors, the World Cup and the Winter Olympics. How realistic your chances are depends on the country you pick at the start, so a Canadian or Swedish player has a very different path from an Italian or Spanish one.

How good can my player get?

Every player starts at 50 overall and has a hidden ceiling. Around 20 percent of careers peak in the 70s, 60 percent in the 80s and 20 percent reach 90 or above, with 99 overall being very rare. Playing time matters: sign for a club far above your level and you will sit on the bench and stop developing.

Can my team get promoted or relegated?

Yes. In countries with more than one division, such as Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Czechia, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Norway, Italy and France, your club can be promoted or relegated between seasons depending on how it compares to the rest of its league.

Every club has its own strength rating, so a move is always a gamble between more money, more minutes and a better shot at silverware.

Minutes matter more than talent

Sign for a club far above your level and you will watch from the bench, and a player who does not play does not improve. Sign somewhere you are the best player in the room and you will develop fast but win nothing. When you are stuck behind better players, a loan to a smaller club buys you the ice time you need. That tension — patience against ambition — is the heart of the game.

Chase every trophy in hockey

Win your domestic league, lift the Champions Hockey League with a European club, and represent your country at the World Championship, the World Juniors, the World Cup and the Winter Olympics. The country you pick at the start is your difficulty setting for the rest of the game: with Canada, the United States, Sweden, Finland, Czechia or Russia the bar to even get called up is brutal, but gold is genuinely within reach. With a smaller federation you will be the captain from day one and never win a thing.

How long does one career take?

Between two and ten minutes. You pick the pace at the start: Express gives you a decision every three seasons, Normal every two, and Intense every single season for maximum control.

How high can my overall rating go?

Everyone starts at 50 overall with a hidden ceiling. Roughly one career in five peaks in the 70s, three in five peak in the 80s, and one in five reaches 90 or higher. A 99 overall rating is rare enough that most players will never see one.

Can my club be promoted or relegated?

Yes, in any country with more than one division in the game — Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, Czechia, Finland, Slovakia, Norway, Italy and France. A strong club in a second tier will climb, and a weak one in a top flight will drop.

Can I share my career?

When you retire you get a summary of every club you played for, your totals, your international record and your individual awards, plus a shareable card you can save as an image or send straight from your phone.
